NCCN Guidelines® & Clinical Resources

Library of NCCN Compendia

The NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines®) are the recognized standard for clinical policy in cancer care and are the most thorough and most frequently updated clinical practice guidelines available in any area of medicine. The recommendations contained in the Library of NCCN Compendia are extracted directly from the relevant NCCN Guidelines® to support clinical decision-making related to the use of drug and biologics, biomarker testing, imaging and radiation therapy for patients with cancer. NCCN Compendia development and maintenance is accomplished by disease site and are reviewed by members of the relevant NCCN panel before publication. NCCN Compendia are updated in conjunction with the NCCN Guidelines on a continual basis.

The Library of NCCN Compendia includes:

NCCN Drugs & Biologics Compendium (NCCN Compendium®)
The NCCN Compendium® contains authoritative, scientifically derived information designed to support decision-making about the appropriate use of drugs and biologics in patients with cancer. The NCCN Compendium is recognized by public and private insurers alike, including CMS and UnitedHealthcare as an authoritative reference for oncology coverage policy.

NCCN Biomarkers Compendium®
The NCCN Biomarkers Compendium® contains information designed to support decision-making around the use of biomarker testing in patients with cancer. The goal of the NCCN Biomarkers Compendium is to provide essential details for those tests which have been approved by NCCN Guidelines Panels and are recommended by the NCCN Guidelines. Tests that measure changes in genes or gene products and which are used for diagnosis, screening, monitoring, surveillance, or for providing predictive or prognostic information are included in the NCCN Biomarkers Compendium.

NCCN Radiation Therapy Compendium™
The NCCN Radiation Therapy Compendium™ contains information designed to support decision-making regarding the use of radiation therapy for treatment of patients with cancer. This includes recommendations pertaining to the clinical scenario, purpose, indication, modality, dosing regimen, clinical notes, disease stage, and histology.

NCCN Imaging Appropriate Use Criteria (NCCN Imaging AUC™) include information designed to support clinical decision-making around the use of imaging in patients with cancer. NCCN Imaging AUC™ include recommendations pertaining to cancer screening, diagnosis, staging, treatment response assessment, follow-up, and surveillance to support clinical decision-making for patients with cancer. In 2016, NCCN was recognized by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as a qualified provider-led entity for creation of imaging AUC.
